Schools – Echoes of Antiquity
A school programme combining a guided tour of Schwarzenberg Palace with an art workshop, where students explore ancient mythology in Renaissance and Baroque art.
A Renaissance palace on Hradčany Square, built in 1545–1567 by architect Agostino Galli for Johann IV Popel of Lobkowicz. Its façade is covered with elaborate sgraffito decoration of North Italian style. Since 2002 the palace has been owned by the National Gallery Prague, which has presented the permanent Old Masters exhibition here since 2008, featuring works from the 16th–18th centuries (Dürer, Rembrandt, Škréta, Brandl and others). Since 2026 it holds the status of a national cultural monument.
