Bartholomaeus Spranger (1546–1611) was a Flemish painter and draughtsman, one of the foremost Mannerist artists of his era. From 1581 he served as court painter to Emperor Rudolf II in Prague, producing mythological and allegorical works that shaped Central European art around 1600.
