Rosary Altarpiece

About

The Rosary Altarpiece is a painting by Albrecht Dürer from 1506, commissioned by the German merchant community in Venice. It shows the Virgin and Child distributing rose garlands to the pope, the emperor, and the faithful. Rudolf II. acquired it and had it carried across the Alps to Prague, where it now belongs to the National Gallery collection.
