Schools – Rudolf II the Collector
100 Kč / person, 2 pedagogové free
This educational programme introduces students to Prague during the late Renaissance, when Emperor Rudolf II resided here and assembled a rare art collection. Although only part of the collection survives, it remains fascinating enough to open a window into this era. The aim is to familiarize students with Mannerism through visual experience and place their learning in a historical and social context.
The programme relates to works and figures: Albrecht Dürer, Bartholomaeus Spranger, Hans von Aachen, Adriaen de Vries, and the Miseroni family. In the workshop, students build on the work of Mannerist artists, scholars, and craftspeople to create their own "bestiary" as an extension of the collector's cabinet of curiosities.
Target group: Secondary school (grades 7–9) and upper secondary school / Duration: 90 minutes / Capacity: 12–30 people / Price: 100 CZK per person, 2 teachers free
