Schools – World on a Table

An educational programme for primary school students (grades 1–4) focused on the still-life genre. Students will stop before paintings featuring vases, flowers, and richly laid tables, engaging all their senses—imagining the aromas and scents emanating from delicacies in the artwork or the delicate vibrations of butterfly wings.

During the studio workshop, children work with objects that come alive in their hands and become characters in colourful stories. Group comic creation develops language and social skills; the programme also includes identifying materials, shapes, and functions of depicted objects.

The programme relates to works by: Rachel Ruysch, Jan I. Brueghel, Frans Snyders, Nicoleas Gillis, Georg Flegel.
