Hans von Aachen (1552–1615) was a German painter working at the crossroads of Renaissance and Mannerism. He served as court painter to Emperor Rudolf II in Prague, producing portraits, mythological scenes, and allegorical compositions. His work is noted for its elegant figures and refined colouring characteristic of the Rudolfine court.
