Ridina Ahmedová (born 1974, Prague) is a Czech vocalist, voice artist and performer of Czech, Russian-Jewish and Sudanese heritage, who moved from jazz clubs to experimental vocal music and theatrical performance. With double bassist Petr Tichý she forms the duo HLASkontraBAS - built on voice, acoustic bass and a looper - which received an Anděl Award nomination in 2016. In 2019 they expanded into the Hlaskontrabas Oktet (four singers, four double bassists), whose 2024 album Kaleidoscapes won the Czech Radio Jazz poll for best Czech jazz album of the year. She also runs the Hlasohled voice centre and creates award-winning audio-documentary podcasts.
The album Kaleidoscapes by Hlaskontrabas Oktet was declared the best Czech jazz album of 2024 in a survey of ČRo Jazz experts.
Hlaskontrabas Oktet released the album Kaleidoscapes (Animal Music), recorded partly in Iceland, and received a nomination for the Anděl award in the Jazz category.
The podcast series Odpustit? received a nomination for the European audiovisual awards Prix Europa 2024 and the Objev roku award in the Podcast roku category.
Ahmadova presented a solo theatrical performance Sádlo and the project Moje tělo je moje in Budapest as part of the Czech Centers program.
