About the venue

The National Museum is the most important Czech museum institution, founded in 1818. Since 1891 it has been housed in a monumental Neo-Renaissance building at the top of Wenceslas Square, declared a national cultural monument in 1962. The museum complex consists of the Historical and New Buildings, connected since 2019 by an underground corridor with a multimedia exhibition. It comprises five specialist institutes covering natural sciences, history, music, ethnography, and non-European cultures.
