The exhibition "The Premyslids – A Ruling Dynasty and Its Era" is on display in the Historic Building of the National Museum from April 24 to October 15, 2026, daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Created in collaboration with the Prague Castle Administration, it presents over 900 artifacts borrowed from nearly 70 institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad. This is the largest exhibition project dedicated to the Premyslids in Czech and European context. The exhibition is divided into four thematic sections (color-coded: blue, green, red, black) and traces the dynasty's story from legendary origins connected with Princess Libuše and the ploughman Přemysl through the princely and royal era to the dynasty's legacy in the Luxembourg period. The exhibition illustrates the transformation of Bohemia and Moravia from the late 8th to the early 14th century in a broader European context.
Among the most significant artifacts are the Romanesque sarcophagus of the so-called Saint Longinus, displayed outside Vyšehrad for the first time, a royal crown from Silesian Środa, textiles from the tomb of Saint Ludmila, funeral jewels of Přemysl Otakar II, his sword, and the personal ring of Přemysl I Otakar. The exhibition is under the patronage of President Petr Pavel, with Jiří Militký as guarantor and Jiří Košta as principal author.
