Ethnography Days
Národní muzeum, Prague
Ethnography Days take place at the Ethnography Museum of the National Museum (Kinský Summer Palace) and the adjacent Kinský Garden. The programme includes an opening with a guided tour of wedding folk costumes from across the Czech Republic (in cooperation with the Horňácko Regional Centre), a fashion show of textiles inspired by folklore (Lenka Jurečková), a children's day woven through with traditions, performances by children's and adult folk ensembles (Slovak Circle in Prague, DFS Rosénka, Josef Vycpálek Song and Dance Ensemble, FS Lipka Pardubice), and a craft fair. The programme also features a short presentation marking the 20th anniversary of the inscription of Slovak verbunk on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, with performances by verbunk dancers active in Prague. The event is realized with financial support from the Ministry of Culture, the City of Prague, and Prague 5 Municipal District.
