Czech Press Photo 2025 – Exhibition at the National Museum

Národní muzeum, Prague

The 31st edition of the prestigious Czech Press Photo journalism competition is on display in the New Building of the National Museum from May 12 to November 30, 2026. The exhibition presents a selection of nearly 800 outstanding journalistic photographs capturing key events of the past year in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Visitors will see winning and nominated images from all 9 competition categories, recipients of special and partner awards, and selected works from the Czech Photo Junior competition. Photographer of the Year 2025 is Lukáš Kaboň (Deník) for his series "Work of Miners at the ČSM-Sever Pit (OKD)," documenting the symbolic end of deep mining in the Ostrava region. This year's edition was record-breaking – nearly 300 photographers submitted 5,250 images judged by an international panel of seven. New to the 31st edition are the category Life in Czechia – Long-term Project and the special award Project Europe, open to photographers from across Europe. The exhibition features an extensive accompanying programme: guided tours with award-winning photojournalists (including Libor Fojtík, Martin Divíšek, Rey Baseley, Roman Vondroš) and other events. The exhibition is open daily from 10 to 18. Tickets can be purchased online, via mobile app, at an automated kiosk, or at the box office. Entry to the exhibition is through the New Building (Václavské náměstí 68, Prague 1).
