Alžběta Tichá (born 1994), known as Bětka, is a Czech circus performer, aerial acrobat and movement coach. She trained in dance at the Duncan Centre conservatory in Prague, then specialised in vertical rope at Codarts - University of Arts in the Netherlands (2020), and completed the ICCAR artistic research programme in Spain in 2023. One of the leading figures in Czech contemporary circus, she co-founded Feel the Universe Circus Company and Prague Aerial Convention; her solo show Frekvence pairs aerial acrobatics with live heart-rate monitoring, letting real-time body data drive the sound and lighting.
The magazine OperaPlus published an interview with Alžběta Tichá about the production Frekvence and her research on the connection between body and technology.
The production Frekvence had repeat performances at the DOX Center for Contemporary Art in Prague (February 11 and 12, 2026), and after the first performance a moderated discussion with Veronika Jošková Štefanová took place.
Alžběta Tichá participated in Czech Circus Showcase 2025, which took place on August 30 as part of the Letní Letná festival in Prague's Letenske sady.
The project Frekvence was included in the circusnext Platform catalog (edition 2023-2025) as one of 36 finalists selected for artistic originality.
Tichá completed the research program ICCAR (International Circus Center for Artistic Research) in Spain, focused on circus dramaturgy and authorial creation.
