Morbidfest 2026: I Am Morbid + Atheist + Cancer + Narcotic Wasteland

Death metal festival Morbidfest returns to the Czech Republic! I Am Morbid will perform the A-D era of Morbid Angel, Atheist will celebrate 35 years of Unquestionable Presence, and Cancer will revisit the classic Death Shall Rise. November 29 in Ostrava (Barrák), December 4 in Prague (Futurum).

I Am Morbid, fronted by David Vincent, brings a set focused exclusively on the first four Morbid Angel milestones - Altars of Madness, Blessed Are the Sick, Covenant, and Domination. Expect classics like "Immortal Rites", "Rapture", and "God of Emptiness", songs that defined Florida death metal in the nineties, performed by the original voice and face of the band.

Florida's Atheist will perform a special set marking the 35th anniversary of Unquestionable Presence from 1991, the album that helped birth technical death metal by combining uncompromising passages with jazz-fusion structure and unexpected rhythmic twists. Tracks like "Mother Man" remain reference points for progressive metal.

British band Cancer will celebrate 35 years since Death Shall Rise, recorded at Morrisound studio in Florida under Scott Burns' direction with guitar solos by James Murphy. The album builds on raw, straightforward riffs and classics like "Hung, Drawn and Quartered".

Support bands will round out the programme with two distinct perspectives on the contemporary extreme scene. In Ostrava, Narcotic Wasteland - a project by Dallas Toler-Wade (ex-Nile) playing technical brutal death metal at high speed - will perform. In Prague, local act Stellvris will bring modern metalcore.
