Acherontas - officially Αχέροντας since 2021 - is a Greek occult black metal project built around V.P. Adept, who handles vocals, guitars and lyrics while also practicing various currents of occultism. Founded in 2007 after the dissolution of Stutthof, the band has released over ten studio albums and is regarded as one of the leading voices of the new wave of Hellenic black metal. Its music draws on Hermeticism, left-hand path philosophy and Eastern esotericism.

The band announced the album release date for ΝΕΚΥΙΑ and released the first single 'Serpent's Oath - Hymns of the Coiled Void'.
New members joined the band: drummer Atum (Simone Lugas) and guitarist Aetherist, making the band predominantly an Italian-Greek project.
The band performed at Metal Threat Fest 2025 in Elgin (USA).
