Cult of Fire is a Prague-based black metal trio active since 2010, whose music is built around Hindu and Buddhist mysticism. The band is led by guitarist and composer Vladimír Pavelka, who travels to India before each album to draw inspiration directly from tantric ritual sites. Their live shows are carefully staged ceremonies, with props, costumes and instruments sourced from India and Nepal. The 2013 album मृत्यु का तापसी अनुध्यान, centred on the goddess Kali and Indian funeral rites, brought them international recognition.
Cult of Fire performed in Medellín and Bogotá as part of the Mantras for a Peaceful Death Tour - the band's first performance in Colombia.
Cult of Fire held the premiere of the album The One, Who Is Made of Smoke in Prague at Lucerna Music Bar.
The band completed a Chinese tour with concerts in Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
The fifth studio album The One, Who Is Made of Smoke was released on March 26, 2025 by Beyond Eyes Production; the album is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Dhumavati.
At the Brutal Assault 2024 festival, Cult of Fire performed a special set with Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague as a tribute to Bedrich Smetana on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth.
