The Evangelical Church of Jan Amos Comenius, popularly known as the Red Church (Červený kostel), stands on Komenského náměstí in the centre of Brno. It was built between 1863 and 1867 to a design by Viennese architect Heinrich von Ferstel in the North German Brick Gothic style. Upon completion it became the first large non-Catholic church in Brno. The three-aisled interior (45 m long, tower 51 m) features a marble pulpit, an altar, and a Rieger organ from 1887; its fine acoustics make it a regular venue for concerts and cultural events.
Komenského náměstí 2, 602 00 Brno
Services: Sun 10:00 (in summer 9:00); parish office: Tue–Thu 10:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00, Wed 10:00–18:00
