Cello Republic performs on Sunday, 4 October 2026 at Fabrika in Svitavy. The four-member ensemble of cellists presents a concert that blends classical music with humor and stand-up comedy. Fabrika, established in 2008 through the conversion of a historic textile factory, features a theatre and congress hall equipped with modern audiovisual technology. This performance is one of two Czech dates on the Cello Republic tour - the second takes place in December in Brno. The ensemble plays music across all genres with vitality and accessibility for all listeners.

About the venue: Fabrika

The Fabrika multifunctional cultural and educational centre opened in 2008 after the conversion of a textile factory built in the 1920s by entrepreneur Wilhelm Ettl. Its centrepiece is a theatre and congress hall with audiovisual technology - the auditorium can be reconfigured from a theatre layout to a concert or congress setting using elevator technology. The building also houses the city library, a restaurant, galleries, and a number of other tenants including the CMS TV studio.

About: Petr Špaček

Petr Špaček is a Czech cellist who studied at the New England Conservatory in Boston. He won the international Concertino Praga competition and has performed as a soloist with leading Czech orchestras including the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and Prague Philharmonia. Since 2021 he has pursued a multi-genre solo career combining classical cello with pop and rock repertoire.
