Standing concert! Luboš Pospíšil & 5P
Luboš Pospíšil continues his endless tour as a matador of the Czech music scene, with his unmistakable voice and his energized, rejuvenated band 5P returning to Svitavy after years. This time marking the 40th anniversary of the album "...And Don't Shoot the Lovers."
Pospíšil is experiencing one of the happiest periods of his more than fifty-year career, highlighted by his solo CD "Poesis Beat" and the best-of compilation "Three Quarters of a Century" for his recent 75th birthday. After touring the landmark album "Soukromá elegie" (which went gold) and the retrospective "Route 66" tour, followed by the Supraphon 13-CD collection, Luboš was inducted into the Beat Hall of Fame. Now he is reaping the rewards and accolades in sold-out halls from Šumava to Ostrava.
The current tour offers a cross-section of his entire career - the audience will hear proven songs from the golden era ("Jekyll and Hyde," "Soukromá cesta do nikam"), as well as newer hits ("Vznikla zem," "Tak navštiv bar," "Poesis Beat") and two brand new songs. Pospíšil's tenor is anchored by drummer Jakub Nývlt (also Sto zvířat, Oskar Petr), electric guitar by Mirek Linhart (YoYo Band), keyboards by bandleader Ondřej Fencl (Schodiště, V. Merta, Marsyas, Hromosvod), bass by Jan Neruda (Věra Martinová, Pocta Z. Navarové), and percussion by guest Michal Hnátek (Divadlo Elf, Jan Hrubý a přátelé). The band's signature is their tight four-part harmonies, a hallmark of the current 5P ensemble united around Pospíšil. The collective's power breaks down generational barriers - the band plays with joy, even when some songs are older than some of the performers.
