Martin Chodúr - Voice of Christmas

Voice of Christmas is an exceptional Christmas recital by Martin Chodúr, one of the most distinctive voices on the Czech-Slovak music scene. This new concert project was created specifically for the Advent and Christmas season.

The Christmas recital features piano, string quartet, and flute accompaniment, offering listeners a unique musical evening that blends festive atmosphere, powerful emotion, and high interpretive quality. The programme presents a wide selection of pieces connected to the Christmas theme - from well-known Czech and Slovak melodies to world Christmas classics. The repertoire includes familiar Christmas hits from pop, jazz compositions, and traditional gospel, arranged in original and inventive ways that highlight Martin Chodúr's exceptional voice and the delicate quality of the acoustic accompaniment. Featured pieces include "White Christmas", "Down by the Riverside", "Hallelujah", "Christmas Bell", and more.

The musical accompaniment is provided by a string quartet made up of members of the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, with pianist Vlastimil Šmída (a leading Czech pop and jazz pianist) at the piano, and young talented flutist Adéla Švanová on the flute. The concert lasts 90 minutes.
