The Voice of Christmas is a new concert project by Martin Chodúr created especially for the Advent and Christmas season. This intimate recital lasts 90 minutes and features pianist Vlastimil Šmída and flutist Adéla Švanová.

The programme includes Czech and international Christmas melodies, popular Christmas hits, jazz compositions and gospel - performed in original arrangements including White Christmas, Down by the Riverside, Hallelujah and Christmas Bell.

About: Martin Chodúr

A native of Ostrava, Martin Chodúr is one of the most enduring figures on the Czech pop-rock scene - the winner of the first Česko Slovenská SuperStar (2009) now performs with his band MACH and through themed projects such as Pocta velkým hlasům and Latino Nuevo, his voice spanning baritone to tenor reaching audiences across generations.

About: Vlastimil Šmída

Vlastimil Šmída is an Ostrava-based pianist, keyboardist and composer, one of the key figures in the jazz scene of the Moravian-Silesian region. He teaches at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and at the University of Ostrava. His collaborations span jazz and pop, including work with Emil Viklický, the Gustav Brom Big Band and singer Martin Chodúr.
