Pavel Šporcl (born 25 April 1973 in České Budějovice) is a Czech violin virtuoso who trained at the Prague Conservatory, HAMU, and in the United States under Itzhak Perlman and Dorothy DeLay. He is the only Czech violinist of his generation listed in Henry Roth's Violin Virtuosos: From Paganini to the 21st Century, and received the Czech Medal of Merit in 2015. Known for his iconic blue violin - built by Jan Špidlen - he has sold over 230,000 CDs and performed at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Hall, and Suntory Hall, among others.

  • 2025-04

    Šporcl released the rock album Rebel with the Blue Violin (Universal Music, 2024) and in April 2025 presented it with a concert at the Prague Municipal House.

  • 2025-04

    In an interview with Czech Radio Radiožurnál, Šporcl explained why he turned to rock after fifty and how instrumental versions of rock hits work without vocals.

  • 2025-07

    CzechTourism presented him as an ambassador of Czech culture in the podcast SBALENO, where he talked about playing in caves, in Peru, and under the Hollywood sign.

  • 2026-03

    In March 2026, he performed at the Prague Church of St. Simon and Jude with the program Concert in the Old Style, inspired by Jan Kubelík's recitals at Carnegie Hall.

  • 2025-2026

    In the 2025/2026 season, he launched the cycle Prague Musical Evenings - Tribute to Paganini, in which he gradually performs all 24 Paganini Caprices for solo violin.
