New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble (NYSJE) is a New York band that originated the ska-jazz genre in 1994 - a term coined by founder Rock Steady Freddie (Fred Reiter). Formed as a supergroup drawing on members of The Toasters, The Scofflaws, and The Skatalites, the band has released sixteen albums over three decades. They are known for instrumental ska built on jazz improvisation and have completed over eighty European tours.

    The compilation album Skallaborations, featuring guest appearances by leading ska, reggae and jazz artists from the band's thirty-year career, was first released on the Jump Up Records label on limited blue vinyl.

    NYSJE performed at the Supernova International Ska Festival in Fort Monroe, Hampton, VA, and also played a show at the New York Iridium Jazz Club.
