About

The Slackers are a ska band from Manhattan, New York, formed in 1991. Their sound draws on 1960s Jamaican ska and rocksteady, blending it with reggae, soul, jazz and garage rock - setting them apart from the punk-leaning mainstream of third-wave ska. Over more than three decades they have released fifteen-plus studio albums, played thousands of shows worldwide, and were dubbed "the Sound of New York" by the New York Times.
