The Slackers (US), Green Småtroll (CZ)
The legendary American ska band The Slackers returns to Prague with Czech group Green Småtroll. An evening of energetic music at the iconic 007 Strahov club.
The Slackers are a ska band from Manhattan, New York, formed in 1991. Their sound draws on 1960s Jamaican ska and rocksteady, blending it with reggae, soul, jazz and garage rock - setting them apart from the punk-leaning mainstream of third-wave ska. Over more than three decades they have released fifteen-plus studio albums, played thousands of shows worldwide, and were dubbed "the Sound of New York" by the New York Times.
In December 2025, The Slackers released the compilation Lost and Found Vol. 2 with eleven tracks, whose single "Diskambobulated" achieved unexpected streaming success.
In November 2025, the EP Money Is King was released on Pirates Press Records; the album immediately entered the top 25 of the Submodern Reports chart.
In April 2025, they released the single My Last Star as a tribute to Hepcat singer Greg Lee, with the band completing his final creative vision.
In summer 2026, The Slackers launched a European tour; among the stops are Leeds, London, and Haarlem.
The album Don't Let the Sunlight Fool Ya (2022) became the band's first recording to enter the American Billboard chart, and after thirty years of existence, Billboard called them a "new artist".
