The Toasters are a New York ska band founded in 1981 on the Lower East Side by British expatriate Robert "Bucket" Hingley. They are among the originators of third-wave ska in the United States - their debut Skaboom! (1987) is widely cited as one of the genre's founding documents - and have logged over 6,000 live shows across four decades. Hingley also ran Moon Ska Records, the most influential ska label of the 1990s, which launched dozens of bands.
The band announced a tour "45 Years in SKA Tour" for 2026, which includes stops in North America and Europe including Germany and Austria.
The European part of the "45 Years in SKA Tour" takes place in September and October 2026 with concerts in Münster, Worpswede, Düsseldorf, Wiesbaden, Leipzig, Berlin, Nuremberg, Saalfeld and other cities.
The band celebrates 45 years of continuous existence in 2026, and the tour includes stops in South America, Asia and Russia alongside regular performances in the USA, Europe and Canada.
The Toasters performed a show in Kansas City (Missouri) in May 2025, where they received enthusiastic audience responses.
