In Memory of Marsyas
A concert dedicated to the compositions of the legendary Czech band Marsyas, featuring renowned musicians. An evening of remembrance performing the band's most celebrated songs.
Marsyas is a Czech folk-rock group whose only constant member has always been singer, composer and lyricist Zuzana Michnová (born 1949 in Jihlava). Founded in 1973 when guitarist Oskar Petr joined the Michnová-Kalandra duo, the band took its name from the Greek myth of the satyr Marsyas. Each of its four successive line-ups recorded one studio album - from the debut Marsyas (1978) to V přítmí (1988) - and the group remains one of the defining acts of Czech folk rock from the 1970s and 80s.
Supraphon released in March 2024 a live double album La Fabrika / Praha on digital platforms.
