In Memory of Marsyas

A tribute concert featuring the repertoire of the band Marsyas performed by an ensemble led by conductor Ondřej Fencl, a member of Marsyas' final line-up from 2014 (including Luboš Pospíšil, Schodiště, V. Merta...). The lead vocal role is performed by Barbora Červinková (Tribute to Zuzana Navarová, Divadlo Semafor, Jazz Elements...).

The programme includes songs such as Břímě, S Luisem, Zmrzlinář, Marsyas a Apollón, Dětský šaty, Dům z obilí, Barvám, Hrnek, Nebeská brána, Příště se ti radši vyhnu, Slunce a déšť, Větrem nech se vést and other compositions from the Marsyas catalogue.

The backing ensemble features Matěj Morávek / Jan "Beruška" Šobr (electric guitar; including work with Vlasta Redl, Sto zvířat, Team P. Habery...), Jan Neruda (bass guitar; including Věra Martinová's band, 5P L. Pospíšila...), Jakub Nývlt / Pavel Plašil (drums; including Sto zvířat, Show J. Krause, Xindl X, Lake Malawi...).

On his collaboration with Červinková, conductor Fencl remarks: "It happened when I first accompanied her at her wedding, where she performed two Marsyas classics - that sparked our partnership. Know that when you close your eyes... you will hear Marsyas."
