Karel Plíhal (born 23 August 1958 in Přerov) is a Czech folk and jazz singer-songwriter, guitarist, lyricist and poet, self-taught and known for his intricate guitar style and witty, often absurdist Czech verse. He is a four-time winner of the Porta folk festival award and received the Anděl Award in 2012 for his album Vzduchoprázdniny. After a hiatus caused by focal dystonia, he returned to the stage in 2018, now playing mandolin alongside guitarist Petr Fiala.
