Druha Trava

Druha Trava was founded in 1991 by Robert Krestian and Lubos Malina after leaving the Brno-based band Poutnici. Since then, the band has been among the top acts on the folk and country scene in the Czech and Slovak republics, and regularly tours the United States.

The group is defined by two things: the distinctive songwriting and interpretive style of Robert Krestian - singer, lyricist, and translator - and the instrumental skill of the other members. Although Druha Trava is often classified as bluegrass, from the beginning it has mixed multiple styles; the bluegrass heritage traces back more to the earlier work of some band members with Poutnici.
