Erik Truffaz & Rozhlasový Big Band Gustava Broma: Around Miles
Erik Truffaz and the Rozhlasový Big Band Gustava Broma celebrate Miles Davis with a special project marking his 100th birthday.
Erik Truffaz (born 3 April 1960 in Chêne-Bougeries, Switzerland) is a French-Swiss jazz trumpeter who has spent three decades blending post-bop with electronica, hip-hop and rock. He rose to international prominence with The Dawn and Bending New Corners on Blue Note Records - the latter going silver in France. His wide-ranging collaborations, from Malian singer Rokia Traoré to Swiss vocalist Sophie Hunger, reflect a restless musical curiosity that has kept him at the forefront of European nu-jazz.
Erik Truffaz and Antonio Lizana performed with the project 'New Sketches of Spain' at the Cádiz Jazz Festival (July 25, 2025).
Truffaz and Spanish singer and saxophonist Antonio Lizana jointly present the project 'New Sketches of Spain' - a contemporary reinterpretation of Miles Davis's famous album Sketches of Spain.
In October 2023, Truffaz released the album Clap! on Blue Note Records - the second volume of his series dedicated to European film music, following the previous Rollin'.
In January 2024, Truffaz performed at Brussels' Botaniku with the program Rollin' & Clap!, combining both albums dedicated to film music.
