A Tribute to Ray Charles: Joey Green (USA) and RayVille Big Band

Ray Charles' music comes alive at Brno's Sono Centrum! The ensemble Joey Green and RayVille Big Band, performing the repertoire of the iconic Ray Charles, is coming to Brno. The RayVille Big Band was founded in 2013 by New York-based singer Joey Green and trombonist Alex Lag. Through their energetic interpretation, they have built a substantial following worldwide. Near the Czech Republic, the ensemble has performed repeatedly in prestigious Austrian music clubs such as ORF RadioKulturhaus, Porgy & Bess, Die Bühne, and Metropol. The concert at Sono Centrum will offer a survey of Ray Charles' work from his early beginnings in 1948, when he started performing with the McSon Trio. Ray Charles' influence on the global R&B and popular music scene remains evident today. From those origins, his musical legacy is reflected in countless recordings by artists across genres - from blues and jazz through R&B and soul to contemporary popular music. RayVille Big Band focuses on live interpretation of Ray Charles' best-known compositions, bringing their authentic energy to concert stages. During the ninety-minute concert, famous songs will be heard including Georgia on My Mind, Mess Around, Hit the Road Jack, I Got a Woman, What'd I Say, Unchain My Heart, Hallelujah I Love Her So, I Can't Stop Loving You, and Here We Go Again.
