Brad Mehldau (born August 23, 1970, Jacksonville, Florida) is an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger whose playing bridges post-bop, classical music, and rock. He rose to prominence with his Art of the Trio series and is widely known for his jazz reinterpretations of rock and pop material - from Radiohead to Elliott Smith. The New York Times called him 'the most influential jazz pianist of the last 20 years'.
