About

Babouci are the oldest continuously active South Bohemian brass band, tracing their roots to 1868 when a group of musicians in Němčice near Netolice formed the ensemble that would eventually take the Babouci name. The band plays in an eleven-piece line-up with no dedicated soloists - every musician both plays and sings - keeping alive a repertoire of South Bohemian and Šumava folk songs. Their 15 albums on Kubešovo hudební vydavatelství have sold over 100,000 copies in total, and since May 2019 the band has been led by flugelhorn player Tomáš Staněk.
