Univerzitní kino Scala is a single-screen premiere cinema in the centre of Brno with a history dating back to 1929. Facing closure in 2011, it was saved by Masaryk University, which has operated it together with Aeropolis since 2013. With 475 seats and modern AV technology, it has repeatedly been named the most-visited single-screen cinema in the Czech Republic. Alongside films, it hosts lectures, conferences, festivals, and live broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera.
