Idealistic Mirek joins a new company with the best intentions, but is soon engulfed by the harsh reality of a socialist enterprise - instead of enthusiastic colleagues, he encounters denunciation, laziness, nepotism, and opportunism.

He takes over a project from an engineer who was once denounced and imprisoned and now works as a stoker at the plant. A clash with incompetent management eventually leads to a rebellion of all employees.

Tomáš Vorla's comedic musical satirizing totalitarianism is one of the key works at the beginning of independent Czech production.
