J.P. Rameau: Galant Worlds / Les Indes galantes – Final Performance

Jean-Philippe Rameau's opera-ballet Les Indes galantes premiered on 23 August 1735 at the Palais-Royal in Paris, with a libretto by Louis Fuzelier. The work is not a classical narrative with a single hero, but a Baroque kaleidoscope of four scenes set in the exotic lands of the era's imagination – Turkey, Persia, Peru, and North America – united by the theme of love transcending cultural boundaries.

Beyond arias, the work features elaborate dances, choral scenes, and orchestral numbers. The performance will be given in authentic interpretation on historical instruments under the baton of Tomáš Netopil, directed by Tomáš Ondřej Pilař, and with choreography by Martin Šintáka. The SILENTIUM! Ensemble orchestra performs.

Soloists: Adam Plachetka, Jean-François Lombard, Hana Blažíková, Lenka Máčiková, Doubravka Novotná, Michal Marhold, Vojtěch Semerád, Tomáš Král.

The performance takes place as a final show in the newly opened cultural and creative Centre Jízdárna in Znojmo.
