This concert is the culmination of the Summer School of Baroque Music – a gathering of students and teachers from the Czech Republic and abroad focused on historically informed interpretation. The stage will feature the winners of the final competition from the latest season:

- Matyas Houf – zink
- Monika Švandová – vocals
- Marie Wienroth and Andreas Seifert – clarino (duo)

All performers are accompanied by the SILENTIUM! ensemble. Bus departure from the city theatre at 17:30.

About the venue: Jevišovice Church

The parish church of St. Josef is a classicist building from 1823-1830, erected on the site of an older cemetery church of St. Nicholas documented since 1447. Its tower, together with the tower of the Old Castle, defines the town's skyline. The organ dates from 1748 and came from the workshop of Brno organ-builder Anton Richter. The church is one of only two in the Brno diocese dedicated to St. Josef.

About: Matyáš Houf

Czech cornettist Matyáš Houf brings back to life a sound that vanished from concert stages three centuries ago - the cornetto, a Baroque wooden-brass hybrid whose tone was likened to the human voice. His studies at the Musik-Akademie Basel are taking him to early music ensembles across Europe.

Matyáš Houf became a scholarship recipient of The Kellner Family Foundation for studies at Musik-Akademie Basel.

Houf also received a scholarship from Bakala Foundation for studies at Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz in Switzerland.

During his studies, Houf began making his own copies of historical zincs based on originals from London and Oxford collections.

About: SILENTIUM! ensemble

Founded in 2025 by Tereza Válková after her sixteen years with Czech Ensemble Baroque, the ensemble quickly established itself at leading Czech festivals. It performs Renaissance-to-Classicism repertoire on period instruments and regularly presents world premieres of forgotten Baroque works.

In the 2026 season, the ensemble presents world premieres of works from the Kroměřížský Archive (Vejvanovský, Rittler, Sances) under the baton of Tomáš Netopil at the Smetanova Litomyšl and MHF Leoše Janáčka festivals and is preparing a CD recording for a prestigious world label.

The ensemble participates in the Coronation Concert for the 400th anniversary of the Habsburgs under the direction of countertenor Andreas Scholl in Znojmo, Brno, and at Prague Castle.
