Hrady CZ 2026 - Švihov
Vodní hrad Švihov, Švihov
Hrady CZ is a summer cultural festival; its 21st edition will take place in summer 2026 across eight historic monuments in various regions of the Czech Republic. The programme features top performers from the Czech and Slovak music scene. Confirmed headliners: Daniel Landa, Rybičky 48, Mirai, Trautenberk, MIG 21.
The Saturday ticket price includes guided tours of the castles' permanent exhibitions. The festival also aims to raise the profile of historic monuments in the regions.
The venue for the Švihov edition is the late-Gothic water castle of Půta Švihov of Rýzmberek, built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, probably according to a plan by Benedikt Rejt. After the Thirty Years' War, the castle ceased to be inhabited, was converted into a granary, and was abandoned in the 19th century. Extensive reconstruction work has been ongoing since 1949. The castle consists of two residential wings enclosing an inner courtyard; it was surrounded by a forecourt with bastions and a water moat, which together with adjacent fishponds created an artificial island.
