Švihov
Švihov Water Castle is a late Gothic national cultural monument in the Klatovy district, first recorded in 1375. It was rebuilt in its current form in 1480–1489 under Půta Švihovský z Rýzmberka, with the renowned architect Benedikt Rejt contributing to its fortifications. Designed as an artificial island protected by two water moats, it ranked among the finest fortresses of its era. Administered by the National Heritage Institute, it hosts cultural events and is famous as a filming location for the 1973 fairy tale Three Wishes for Cinderella.
