Hrady CZ 2026 - Bouzov

Bouzov, Doly

Hrady CZ is a summer cultural festival, with its 21st edition taking place in summer 2026 at historic monuments across eight regions of the Czech Republic. The programme features performances by leading acts from the Czech and Slovak music scenes. Confirmed headliners: Daniel Landa, Rybičky 48, Mirai, Trautenberk, MIG 21.

Saturday tickets include guided tours of the castles' permanent exhibitions. The festival also aims to raise the profile of historic monuments in the regions.

Bouzov Castle was founded at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries and is located in the Litovelsko and Mohelnicko landscape. Until 1696 it was owned by members of various Czech and Moravian noble families, after which the estate was purchased by the Order of German Knights. Since 1945 it has been state property, and since 1999 it has been designated a national cultural monument. Its present appearance, with crenellations, arrow slits, gun ports and gargoyles, was acquired following reconstruction between 1895 and 1910. The castle is furnished with paintings, artworks and period furniture, as well as custom-made pieces.

Unique are two functioning drawbridges and a portcullis, which can be seen in operation on ceremonial occasions — the opening and closing of the season, exhibition vernissages, castle fairs or carnivals. The castle has also appeared repeatedly in fairy tales and historical films.
