SMART BODY – Workshop for Seniors (50+)
The SMART BODY workshop for seniors is led by dancer and instructor Filip Staněk. It is designed primarily for participants aged 50+ who want to move, develop their movement abilities, and discover dance in a new way. However, everyone is welcome regardless of age or previous experience.
SMART BODY is a movement approach created by Filip Staněk based on his dance and teaching experience. It draws on the connection between body and mind, work with attention, natural movement organization, continuity and efficiency of movement. The focus is on coordination, balance, mobility, breath work, spatial orientation, and body awareness.
The three-hour workshop is adapted for older participants – the pace is calm, with emphasis on conscious and healthy movement rather than performance. Each participant can regulate the intensity and range of movement according to their abilities. The programme includes gentle body and mind attunement, sensory work, coordination, stability and balance, movement in space, guided improvisation and musicality, integration of feeling, thought and movement, and brief verbal reflection.
The workshop will take place at Studio Maiselovka in a small group (maximum 10 participants), allowing for individual attention. It builds on the activities of Studio Maiselovka and the 420PEOPLE ensemble. The workshop will be conducted in Czech. Recommended clothing: tracksuit, comfortable t-shirt, socks or barefoot; bring a water bottle. Registration on the [organizer's website](www.420people.org).
