Schools – Proximity to Sculpture

Wed, 27 May 2026 · 10:00 — Tue, 30 Jun 10:00

Veletržní palác, Prague

An educational programme for schools focused on sculpture, objects, and installations. Participants will explore various sculptural materials, consider whether sculpture can glow, move, or burn, and create their own 3D cast – a plaster mould.

The programme takes place in the exhibition 1939–2021: The End of the Black and White Era, which features rich sculptural works by leading Czech artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Among the represented artists are Eva Kmentová, František Kyncl, Zbyněk Sekal, and others.

Programme objectives: to familiarize participants with various possibilities of spatial expression, reveal the role of experimental and classical materials in sculpture's formal language, and develop imagination, creativity, and the ability to express oneself through various artistic forms.
