About

Rudolf II (1552–1612) was Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia who made Prague his imperial residence. A passionate collector of art, scientific instruments and curiosities, his collection ranked among the largest in Europe. He patronised Mannerist artists such as Spranger, Hans von Aachen and Adriaen de Vries.
