Coffee with a Psychologist: Anxiety, Overthinking and Burnout - Understanding and Working with Them — Story B, Prague
Description was written before the event

What really happens inside us when we feel anxious? Why does anxiety often come with overwhelm, and why does simply trying to "stop thinking about it" usually fail? This lecture connects neurobiology and psychology with what we experience in everyday life. Beyond theory, it focuses on concrete strategies for managing acute anxiety, preventing long-term burnout, and dealing with anxious and intrusive thoughts.

You will learn:
- How anxiety develops and what happens at the level of body, mind and emotions - including different forms and types of anxiety and basic neurobiological connections.
- How to work with acute anxiety and what to do to prevent long-term overwhelm.
- Why we sometimes feel tired even when we rest - we'll explore burnout, prolonged nervous system activation, and different types of rest.
- What to do with anxious and intrusive thoughts - we'll look at overthinking, constant analysis and searching for answers that can paradoxically strengthen anxiety.
