Echoes of Birds

A drama for dancers with words and thoughts of Josef Topol.

A dance-theatre homage to Josef Topol, Vlastimil Harapes, Jan Kačer, Maria Tomášová, and Jan Třískа. This is the premiere of a project that moves between dance and literary text — a mosaic of forms combining the poetry of movement and words with narration and factography.

The project is based on the literary work of Josef Topol. The title references the production "Voices of Birds" from the Theatre on Vinohrady, which director Jan Kačer brought back to the stage after the Velvet Revolution, restoring a banned author to public view. Questions about the meaning of life and the role of art and the artist in society form the foundation of this production.
