GEISSLERS HOFCOMOEDIANTEN: Theatre of Light

Barokní areál, Kuks

from 500 Kč · ≈ 21 €

Geisslers Hofcomoedianten: Theatre of Light – an opera about the man who illuminated Baroque Prague.

The production takes audiences to 18th-century Prague, to the theatre of František Antonín Šporek. The story follows the fate of a boy who became paralyzed after being struck by a count's carriage, yet went on to become the first master of light in Baroque theatre. The theme of light permeates the entire production as a symbol of life, art, and inner strength. The work is based on the novel of the same name by Anne Delaflotte Mehdevi. The music by Jan Jirásek is performed by the chamber orchestra Musica Florea, and the scenography draws on research into the latest light design technologies by students of the Light and Audiovisual Design for Live Arts studio at DAMU Prague.
