Testament are an American thrash metal band from Berkeley, California, active since 1983 (originally as Legacy). They are considered a founding force of the Bay Area thrash scene and part of its so-called "Big Six," sitting just outside the genre's mainstream Big Four. Across four decades they have released fourteen studio albums and sold over 14 million copies worldwide; both The Legacy and The New Order are inducted into Decibel Magazine's Hall of Fame.
Testament launched their American tour "Thrash of the Titans" with Overkill and Destruction, which runs from March 14 to April 10, 2026.
On October 10, 2025, Testament released their fourteenth studio album Para Bellum on Nuclear Blast - their first recording with drummer Chris Dovas.
In August 2025, Testament released the first single from the album Para Bellum titled "Infanticide A.I.", which was first exclusively broadcast on SiriusXM Liquid Metal.
In July 2024, Testament released remastered versions of their first two albums The Legacy and The New Order digitally and on vinyl through Nuclear Blast Records.
In fall 2024, Testament performed a co-headlining tour with Kreator called "Klash Of The Titans", featuring 33 shows across the USA.
