Megadeth is an American thrash metal band founded in Los Angeles in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica. The band is considered one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Their acclaimed albums include Peace Sells… but Who's Buying? and Countdown to Extinction.
