Oscar Pettiford (1922–1960) was an American jazz double bassist and cellist, one of the key pioneers of bebop. He collaborated with Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, and many other jazz giants. His composition Bohemia After Dark became a bebop-era standard.
