Dizzy Gillespie (1917–1993) was an American jazz trumpeter, composer, and bandleader, widely regarded as one of the founding figures of bebop. Alongside Charlie Parker, he transformed modern jazz. His compositions include "A Night in Tunisia" and "Salt Peanuts".
