Clifford Brown was an American jazz trumpeter and one of the defining figures of hard bop in the 1950s. His technically brilliant and melodically rich playing style profoundly influenced generations of trumpet players. He died in a car accident in 1956 at just 25, yet left a lasting legacy through recordings such as the album "Study in Brown".
